Heian Godan


Performing reverse punch (Giaku-zuki) in cat-leg stance (Neko ashi dachi); blocking the opponent’s punch and grabbing his wrist; downward block (Gedan barai) in back stance (Kokutsu dachi); are executed in this kata. In some Shitoryo schools, this kata is practiced before Heian Yodan. The number of movements is twenty, and the time required is thirty-five seconds. This kata is practiced in the fourth kyu level.
